The Indian Army on Sunday paid solemn tribute to Naib Subedar Suryanarayana Simma, who lost his life while performing his duties in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The tribute was led by the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, along with all ranks of the force.
In an official message shared on social media platform X, the Army expressed deep sorrow over the loss, honouring the courage and dedication of the soldier who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The message described Naib Subedar Simma as a “Braveheart,” reflecting the high regard in which he was held by his peers and superiors.
While specific operational details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed, the Army reaffirmed its commitment to stand firmly with the bereaved family during this difficult time. “We offer our deepest condolences and stand in solidarity with the family in this hour of grief,” the statement said.
The incident underscores the continued challenges faced by security forces deployed in sensitive regions like Srinagar, where personnel remain engaged in maintaining security and stability.
