Rajya Sabha Member Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed officers and their families at the Army War College (AWC), Mhow, in a session focusing on the interconnected imperatives of governance, national security and India’s long-term development trajectory towards Viksit Bharat 2047. The session, held at the Kalkat Auditorium, brought together officers of the premier Indian Army institution, including AWC Commandant Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, Higher Command Wing Commander Maj Gen SS Kartikeya and other senior officers of the college.

According to information shared by the AWC on X, Trivedi drew upon his experience in public life, administration and professional service to discuss issues bearing on governance and national security. The address was followed by an interactive session in which participants engaged with the speaker on issues of strategic and national importance.
The engagement comes at a time when professional military education is increasingly expanding beyond conventional operational studies to encompass geopolitics, governance, technology, information warfare and the wider national-security ecosystem. The AWC is a key institution for higher military education and has been emphasising contemporary operational thinking and multi-domain approaches. Lt Gen Chandpuria assumed command of the institution in May 2026, succeeding Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi.
Trivedi has previously participated in national-security discussions involving senior military leaders and policymakers. At the 2024 Chanakya Defence Dialogue, for instance, he was part of a panel examining the relationship between social cohesion, inclusive development and internal security.
The Mhow interaction therefore reflects the increasingly important interface between military professionals, political leadership and strategic discourse.
