The Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, conducted a Tech Symposium on “Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO)- Dominance in Multi-Domain Operations (MDO)” on Monday. MCTE press release stated that the symposium was organised to foster professional discourse on the increasing significance of the electromagnetic spectrum in contemporary and future warfare and its role as a critical enabler in Multi-Domain Operations.

MCTE Commandant Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, Deputy Commandant Maj Gen Gautam Mahajan, BGS Brig MS Randhawa, Brig Deven Makhija, along with other senior officers of MCTE were present in the function. At the end of the event, Lt Gen Bakshi felicitated the participants of symposium.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, undergoing in-service courses at MCTE, along with faculty members here. The symposium provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and perspectives on achieving spectrum superiority, enhancing operational effectiveness and strengthening integration across domains.

Proceedings comprised two technical sessions and a special address covering various facets of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, including spectrum superiority, cross-domain convergence, operational challenges and future capability development. The discussions highlighted the growing importance of the electromagnetic spectrum as a decisive factor in modern military operations and the need to continuously evolve capabilities to meet emerging challenges.

An equipment display formed an integral part of the event, providing participants an overview of contemporary capabilities and ongoing developments in the electromagnetic spectrum domain. The display facilitated greater awareness and understanding of technologies that contribute towards operational effectiveness in an increasingly contested environment.

The symposium was graced by veterans possessing rich operational and professional experience in the field of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations. Their participation added depth to the deliberations and provided valuable insights into the evolving challenges, opportunities and future requirements of the electromagnetic domain.

The participation of officers from all three Services fostered professional interaction and contributed towards strengthening tri-service understanding and integration in the conduct of future Multi-Domain Operations. The symposium reinforced the importance of jointness, innovation and capability development in ensuring operational preparedness for the challenges of the future battlespace.

The event reaffirmed MCTE’s commitment to promoting professional military education, encouraging intellectual discourse and advancing understanding of emerging operational concepts and technologies relevant to national security.
