Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps has formally honoured the supreme sacrifice of Naib Subedar Hira Bahadur Pandey, who laid down his life while performing operational duties in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir.
In a solemn tribute, the Corps described the valiant soldier as a “Braveheart” whose courage and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire serving personnel and future generations. “Chinar Warriors salute the valour and sacrifice of the Braveheart,” the Corps stated in its social media post, reaffirming the profound respect the Indian Army holds for its fallen comrades.
Naib Subedar Pandey made the ultimate sacrifice on the line of duty in one of the most sensitive and operationally active regions along the Line of Control. Baramulla sector has long been a focal point for counter-terrorism operations, where troops routinely face challenges from infiltration attempts and militant activities. His death underscores the high risks shouldered daily by soldiers deployed in Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace and stability.
Senior military officials and personnel from the Chinar Corps gathered to pay their respects, highlighting the soldier’s professionalism, leadership, and commitment to service. The Corps also extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them of full support and welfare measures. “We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and are committed to their well-being,” the statement emphasised, reflecting the Indian Army’s longstanding policy of comprehensive care for the next of kin of martyrs.
This latest loss serves as a poignant reminder of the human cost of securing India’s frontiers. The Chinar Corps, responsible for operations in the Kashmir Valley, continues to conduct intensive counter-terrorism and counter-infiltration missions in rugged and demanding terrain. Despite such sacrifices, the force maintains a resolute posture, backed by strong intelligence networks and seamless coordination with other security agencies.
Army has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the sacrifice of Naib Subedar Hira Bahadur Pandey does not go in vain, with operations continuing unabated to neutralise threats and safeguard national security.
Defence Chronicle offers its profound respects to the martyr and stands with the armed forces in their sacred duty.
