The medal adds to a strong showing by the Indian shooter, who is the reigning Asian Champion and reached the finals on two consecutive days, including the Trap Women’s final.

This podium finish highlights the consistent excellence emerging from the Army Marksmanship Unit, located at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. Much of the recent success of the AMU is attributed to the dynamic leadership of its Commanding Officer, Colonel C Naren Babu, Sena Medal. Since assuming command, Colonel Babu has brought about a remarkable transformation in the unit’s performance through his hands-on approach, continuous monitoring, and expert supervision. His strategic guidance and emphasis on scientific training methodologies have enabled shooters to excel at the highest levels of international competition.

Under his stewardship, AMU shooters have delivered consistent results across various national and international events, reinforcing the unit’s reputation as a cradle of shooting excellence.

Naib Subedar Neeru’s bronze medal is not just a personal triumph but a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment to producing athletes of global calibre. As India ramps up preparations for future Olympic cycles, performances like these from the AMU, Mhow, signal a promising upward trajectory for the nation in the shooting discipline.
