Mhow: The last rites of veteran IAF officer Squadron Leader Randhir Singh Yadav (88) were conducted with military honours at the Kodariya Panchayat Mukti Dham in Mhow on Tuesday 24 March. He had passed away on Sunday 22 March.
An alumnus of Military School Bangalore and an aeronautical engineer Yadav served in the IAF from 1955 to 1993. He had participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan. He had extensive work experience on various airplanes and helicopters including Gnat, Hunter, Vampire, Krishak and Chetak. He had also served with the Army Aviation Corps. He was awarded the AOC-in-C commendation card for distinguished service.
Contingents from the IAF and Indian Army along with friends and well-wishers and the veteran community of Mhow paid tribute to the late veteran. Maj Gen Gaurav Rishi, SC, SM laid a wreath on behalf of the Commandant and all ranks of the Army War College Mhow. Air Commodore H J Page laid wreaths on behalf of the Chief of Air Staff, AOC-in-C Central Command and all ranks.
The funeral pyre was lit by and final rites conducted by Sqn Ldr Yadav’s sons veteran Brig Vikram Yadav and Paramvir Yadav. Also present were his grandsons Sqn Ldr Ambar, Major Akash, Arjun and Arun.
