MCTE Honoured with Digitisation & Automation Excellence Award at ARTRAC Investiture Ceremony

Mhow: The Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to military technology, receiving the prestigious ‘Digitisation & Automation Excellence Award’ at the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) Investiture Ceremony 2026.

The award was presented during the recently concluded ARTRAC Investiture Ceremony 2025-26, held in Shimla. Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, VSM, Commandant of MCTE, and Sub Maj Sudhir Patel accepted the honour from Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC. The ceremony was conducted with the exemplary military precision, dignity and grace that characterise such high-level investiture events.

In a parallel recognition of cutting-edge innovation, two senior officers from MCTE, Lt Col Abhilash Anand and Lt Col Abhimanyu Singh, were conferred the ‘Tech Excellence Award’ for their significant contributions to technological advancement in the fields of ‘Quantum’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

The achievements spotlight MCTE’s pivotal role in preparing the Indian Army for the demands of modern-day warfare. In his address, the Lt Gen Sharma commended the awardees, noting that their accomplishments would serve as a powerful source of inspiration for others across the force to emulate.

The recognition comes at a time when global militaries are accelerating the integration of digital technologies, automation, quantum computing and AI into operational frameworks. MCTE’s award underscores India’s growing emphasis on indigenous capability development in these critical domains, positioning the college as a centre of excellence for shaping the ‘future warriors’ of networked and technology-driven conflict.

This investiture not only celebrates individual and institutional excellence but also reaffirms the Indian Army’s commitment to technological superiority as a cornerstone of national defence strategy.
