At the prestigious Army War College in Mhow, Lieutenant General DS Rana, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, Commander-in-Chief of Strategic Forces Command, addressed participants of the Junior Officers’ Command and Staff Programme (JOCAP) during a special interaction focused on the evolving security landscape and future military preparedness.
The session was attended by Lieutenant General HS Sahi, Commandant of the Army War College, along with senior officers from the Higher Command Wing, highlighting the importance of the interaction for ongoing professional military education.During his address, Lt Gen Rana shared his perspectives on the contemporary security environment, underlining the need for continuous adaptation, technological integration, and strategic foresight in modern warfare.
He emphasised that future military readiness will depend not only on advanced capabilities but also on well-trained leadership capable of responding to complex and multi-domain challenges.He also spoke about the role of institutions like the Army War College in shaping senior leadership of the Indian Army, noting that structured training programmes such as JOCAP play a vital role in preparing officers for higher responsibilities in operational and strategic domains.The interaction forms part of the regular academic and professional engagements conducted at the Army War College, one of the Indian Army’s premier institutions for higher military learning, where officers are trained in operational art, leadership, and national security strategy.
Officials present during the programme described the session as a valuable opportunity for officers to gain first-hand insights from senior leadership on emerging threats, jointness, and long-term defence preparedness of the nation.
