Thoubal, Manipur: The Assam Rifles conducted a dedicated medical camp at Khangabok village in Thoubal District, Manipur, providing essential healthcare services to local residents while reinforcing bonds between the security forces and the civil population.
The initiative, organised with the dual aim of delivering accessible medical care and further strengthening civil-military relations, saw a specialised team of experienced doctors, nursing staff and supporting troops from the Assam Rifles set up operations in the village. The personnel worked tirelessly throughout the camp, offering free consultations, basic treatment and detailed medical advice to villagers.
Located in one of the key districts of the Imphal Valley, Khangabok village benefited from the outreach programme that brought professional healthcare directly to the doorsteps of residents, many of whom face challenges in accessing advanced medical facilities in remote and semi-urban pockets of Manipur.

Such civic action programmes form an integral part of the Assam Rifles’ mandate as the region’s oldest paramilitary force, which continues to play a pivotal role in both internal security and community development across the Northeast. By organising regular medical camps, the force not only addresses immediate health requirements but also builds trust and goodwill among local communities.
Officials associated with the camp stated that the response from villagers was encouraging, with many availing the services for general health check-ups and preliminary treatment. The event is part of the Assam Rifles’ ongoing series of welfare initiatives aimed at supporting the people of Manipur amid efforts to restore normalcy and development in the state.
The successful conduct of the medical camp at Khangabok once again highlights the Assam Rifles’ commitment to functioning as a people-centric organisation that seamlessly blends its security responsibilities with meaningful contributions to societal well-being in India’s Northeastern region.
