National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has offered the first detailed public account of Operation Sindoor in Discovery’s two-part docuseries “Declassified Operation Sindoor”, which premieres on 15 August. The series chronicles India’s 88-hour military response to the April 22, 2025 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.

In the documentary, Doval recounts how the operation’s clear objective was the destruction of terrorist camps linked to the Pahalgam massacre. He highlights Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm directive to strike terror infrastructure hard, wherever it existed. “India’s generosity or India being tolerant should not be mistaken for its weakness. India can take risks, India can hit hard, irrespective of the consequences,” Doval states, underscoring a strategic shift away from any perception of restraint as vulnerability.
The series features rare first-hand accounts from India’s senior military and national security leadership, operational commanders, and analysts. The decision to release the series on the eve of India’s Independence Day carries deliberate strategic weight.
